I love to travel. My favorite destination is anything tropical with a beach. Most of my stories include glimpses of some of the amazing places I’ve visited.

My middle name is Anne. With an E. Because, as Anne Shirley of Anne of Green Gables said, it’s more dignified that way. I happen to agree. You haven’t read Anne of Green Gables? You should. It’s amazing.

My favorite color is green. And I love trees. My son says my favorite color is green because I love trees. My daughter says I love trees because my favorite color is green. The chicken or the egg? Either way, if you’re with me, I’m likely to point out the prettiest tree I see. Or any tree really. And there’s a good chance I’m wearing a green shirt.

My first car was a red Volkswagen rabbit convertible. I loved it. My dream is to someday have another one- or something similar. You know, after I graduate from driving a ginormous SUV used to haul a bunch of kids around.

The first book I wrote that I talk about in my author bio was titled Can't Stop the Rain. It was a young adult story about a group of teenage lifeguards on a small island off the coast of North Carolina. I’d let you read it, but I’d have to sort through my collection of three inch floppy disks to try to find it. It’s probably in a box in the attic. Right next to all my mixed tapes.

My favorite food is salad. It’s weird but true. Not the sad kind that is good for you. No. The kind with all sorts of good stuff on top of greens. Extra points if it has something fried like wontons or onion strings or bacon. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

My favorite animal is a baby elephant. Regular adult elephants are nice, too, but I really like the babies. My friend once had a baby elephant wrap its trunk around her arm while she was visiting an elephant sanctuary. It might be the coolest story I’ve ever heard. Also, I want to go there some day.

I don’t like to shop. I know this might be as disappointing to you as the fact that my favorite food is salad, but it has always seemed like more of a chore to me than a treat. My dislike of shopping for clothes became a real problem when my kids were little and required a whole new wardrobe for each new season. There may or may not have been a cold day one winter when I realized my son had no pants and my daughter had no long sleeve tops. Oops.

I love watching college football. I get excited every August when school is back in session and preseason starts. My favorite team is, of course, Texas Tech Red Raiders. Wreck ‘em Tech. If they are playing, I am watching. Unless it’s a big game and I’m too nervous to watch. Then I try to distract myself in a different room while yelling out ‘what just happened’ and making my sweet hubby call out a play-by-play. It’s a problem, I know. I’m working on it.

I write romances because I like the happy endings. I think they are fun to read and they're really fun to write. I hope you like them, too, and you feel uplifted and encouraged at the end of each of my stories.
